Santa Ynez, Calif. — A 250-pound tortoise that wandered away from its dwelling has been rescued after California Freeway Patrol officers discovered it on the aspect of a highway.
And no, they did not arrest it for rushing.
The freeway patrol says it acquired a name in regards to the large reptile Sunday night. It was noticed on the shoulder of a highway in Santa Ynez, about 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
Santa Ynez Animal Rescue picked up the tortoise earlier than CHP officers arrived.
The CHP situated the homeowners, put the tortoise within the patrol automobile and delivered it to them about two hours later.
