An armed pastor shut down a burglar in his tracks Thursday morning by holding the suspect who’d damaged into his church at gunpoint till police might get there.

Lead Pastor Brant Adams of Seminole Heights Baptist Church responded to an alarm going off on the church simply previous 1 a.m. Adams, who lives close by, arrived together with a deacon and located the suspect, Miguel Otero-Rivera, rifling via a number of church workplaces after breaking in a window, based on FOX 13.

“I did not know what he had in his hand, so I pulled the gun via the window,” Adams stated. “I took the gun, pointed it at him, and informed him to get down. I yelled at him and stated, ‘Hey, get down!’ He put his palms up, went to the bottom.”

Police arrived a couple of minutes later and took Otero-Rivera, who had left a path of blood via the church after breaking the window, into custody, FOX 13 reported. He was charged with housebreaking, grand theft, and drug possession.

Chruch leaders assume he was attempting to steal money.

Adams stated there isn’t any want for people who find themselves struggling to steal from anybody.

“There’s so many issues that we attempt to do to assist individuals,” he stated. “If he would’ve simply come to the again door and knocked and requested for one thing, stated, ‘I want some meals.’ We’d’ve given him some meals.”
