MANTECA, Calif. — The son of a San Francisco Bay Space police chief was arrested Wednesday following an assault on a 71-year-old Sikh man at a park in Central California. Tyrone McAllister, 18, and a 16-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of tried theft, elder abuse and assault with a lethal weapon following Monday morning’s assault in Manteca, authorities stated.

McAllister is the son of Union Metropolis Police Chief Darryl McAllister, who stated his household “is shaken to the core.” Manteca police stated Sahib Singh, who would not converse English, was attacked whereas strolling on a sidewalk subsequent to the park.
