Australian actor Guy Pearce has opened up about his experience of working with Kevin Spacey, describing him as “a handsy guy”.
Pearce, who worked with Spacey on the award-winning 1997 crime thriller LA Confidential, made the revelation to Australian chat show host Andrew Denton.
Asking Pearce about his experience of working with various different actors throughout his career, including Kate Winslet and Kylie Minogue, Denton then moves on to Spacey, to which he replies: “Yeah… Tough one to talk about at the moment.”
He then goes on: “Amazing actor. Incredible actor. Mmm. Slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah. He’s a handsy guy.”
Pearce, 50, then added: “Thankfully, I was 29 and not 14.”
Spacey was one of the first stars to be accused of sexual misconduct in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
The Oscar winner has faced multiple accusations of sexual harassment since actor Anthony Rapp said the star had made a sexual advance toward him in 1985, when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.
Spacey has since lost his House Of Cards Netflix role, been removed from Ridley Scott’s 2017 film All The Money In The World, and had his 2017 Emmy Founders Award revoked.
Spacey has not been arrested or charged with any crime.
The 58-year-old will be making a big-screen comeback in the Billionaire Boys Club which will be released this August.
Later in the interview, Pearce also describes working with actress Kylie Minogue in Australian soap Neighbours, joking that she was “not as handsy as I’d like her to be”.
The full interview will be shown on Andrew Denton’s “Interview” on Australian network GWN7 on Tuesday night.
